Internal management of affordable housing units and income verification
Western Community Housing, Inc. (WCH) is a nonprofit public benefit corporation founded in 1999. Our mission is to promote affordable housing and provide social services to low-income senior and family households thereby enhancing their quality of life. WCH is based in California with offices in Costa Mesa and Los Angeles. Their projects provide housing to low-income seniors, families, and people with special needs. In 2013, WCH served more than 20,000 men, women, and children, and offered 8,294 affordable apartments. They needed a way to better manage their housing data through an internally-facing portal. Digital Solutions stepped in to help do just that.
WCH Internal Management Application and discovery:
Digital Solutions was tasked to design and develop an application, both web and mobile based, for internal staff at WCH to manage several complex features within their operation, including full-service functionalities centered around the following:
- Buildings — Single and multi-family units
- Property managers
- Other contacts management
- Occupancy information
- County income levels
- Tax information
- Building developers
- Other partnerships
The application would not only have to provide the ability for tiered users, but also need a smooth user analysis to make the application as relevant as possible for each user. Several reports would also need to be generated around this data as well. Thus, Digital Solutions was tasked with creating a fully-functional CRM system for WCH users.
The Final Product: WCH Internal Application
Tying in active databases already help by WCH, Digital Solutions created the application and provides updates on an ongoing basis as technology evolves. Creating a custom CRM system is no small task, and Digital Solutions was able to develop the system within 6 months from start to finish. Thy system increased effencies, reporting and sales success.
